Georgian Country House

The full refurbishment and extension of a Listed Georgian and Jacobean House and Garden in Somerset.

Project Details

The refurbishment of this house and garden in Somerset required a very sensitive approach by both the design team and the building team. Materials needed to be carefully sourced for the house and the garden, to ensure that the impact of the new on the old was minimal.

The new kitchen extension to the right of the façade was installed with a roof to match the existing and a wall of glass that prevents the new from clashing with the old and affords the kitchen spectacular views of the Somerset countryside.

The works included an extension into the attic and a complete refurbishment of 9 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms and all principle rooms. The garden works included extensive new planting, a new main terrace, kitchen garden, swimming pool, outbuildings and the refurbishment of an old rose garden, grotto and water features.
